The volunteer work-force was out and about ensuring another floral bonanza to enhance Brightllingsea for both Spring and Summer.
Spring was heralded in with a delightful profusion of crocus, daffodil and narcissi throughout the town's greenswards and colourful hyacinths, primrose and pansy flower beds.
Early Summer - approximately 10,000 plants were used to create a wide variety of container and flower bed displays throughout the length and breadth of the town, brightening up life for our residents and a vital ingredient to encourage tourism for our local economy!
All planted, maintained and watered by the dedicated and enthusiastic team to ensure Brightlingsea keeps bloomin' lovely!
With everyone from across the community joining in the "Bloom" project - from the very young to the very elderly - schools and youth group, our local Council, voluntary organisations, business, retail and, of course, our very supportive residents - Brightlingsea once again won the "BEST TOWN TROPHY" and GOLD MEDAL, in the 2007 ANGLIA IN BLOOM COMPETITION.
Here we are now, in our 14th year - 2008 - hoping for a slightly better summer for sunshine! Whatever the weather we will be endeavouring to brighten up even the dullest day with lots of bright and beautiful blooms!
