2006 - what a challenging but rewarding year!

Having been nominated by Anglia in Bloom to represent the Anglia region in the "Town" category of the RHS Britain in Bloom 2006 competition, everyone in our town - residents, businesses and voluntary organisations, joined forces with the "in-Bloom" team, making sure Brightlingsea was well and truly BLOOMING all year round - for the judges' visits!

The first big challenge -
To ensure our town was spick and span and bursting into spring bloom for the unannounced RHS Britain in Bloom judging - which could be any time from mid-April to mid-May!

Donned in boots and fleeces, the "Bloomers" weed and tidy the flowerbeds for a "Bloomin'" good welcome.

Our council groundstaff are out with the mowers - for a neat finish!

The autumn 2005 bulb-planting programme is all worthwhile - everywhere is springing into blossom.
